I am Mustundead, a product manager. The name joins “must” and “undead,” and it has always been my identity online. You can also call me Mu. Mu is not a nickname; it anchors a personal conviction I choose to live by.
MU LABS is the name of my personal practice. In Chinese, I call it 永生试验室: the Immortality Lab. I look for problems in everyday life, try to understand what people need, then run experiments through products, writing, code, design, video, sound and images. AI opens up new possibilities. I do not worship it; I use it to turn real problems into working things more quickly. People still decide where it should take us. There are no final answers here, only a personal understanding under constant revision. Knowledge and experience still have to be worked out by people, over and over again.
The graphic mark is based on μ, the SI symbol for the prefix micro, equal to 10⁻⁶: one millionth. The word comes from the Greek μικρός (mikrós), meaning “small.” For me, it is both Mu and a scale of observation. It reminds me to look closely at the small, easily overlooked things that shape everyday life. Beside models measured in billions of parameters, my memory, speed and lifetime are sharply limited. On the scale of the universe, one person is closer to a quantity too small to mark. But small does not mean negligible. A model can compress knowledge, but it cannot live through pain, joy, choice and consequence for me. The universe will not answer me either. I still have to decide how to spend this life. I want this mark to remind me that life is finite, understanding is limited, and I must keep thinking for myself. That is where experiments at MU LABS begin.
I expect to see AGI emerge in my lifetime. But what is it that I truly want to accomplish? If that answer already exists, why not begin now?
No labels. If you want to know me, follow the index of things on this site. To some extent, they reflect the choices I have made. To live is to experience as much as possible: study what I do not know, train the skills I lack and enter unfamiliar worlds.
Once you let yourself act, you can do anything. Everything becomes possible. You are your own creator. You shape your life and your future. Every misfortune is your own doing; every happiness is also in your hands.
Exercise, learn, produce, sell, invest, investigate and practise. This may be the only way of life that leads to freedom. If you truly understand what you are doing, then it is all right.
I only live once, so I dare to make any decision. Life is only a stretch of empty time.
